More efforts on the R&D of industrial robots

( ) 2015-08-21

With the goal of discussing the current situation of robot education in China, a forum on industrial robots development was held in Jiading district of Shanghai on Aug 16.

The forum was one of the activities organized during the 2015 Jiading Sci-tech Expo. It was launched in response to Shanghai's ambition to become a global science and technology innovation center.

Li Deyi, head of the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence, attended the forum and said that China has now become the world's largest consumer of industrial robots. However, its development of industrial robots is far behind other advanced countries like Japan.

Li called upon related institutes and enterprises to conduct more scientific research, instead of making low-level robots.

Li Jinglai, head of Chinese Alliance for Robot Education, emphasized intelligent machine manufacturing as an important driving force for the country's industrial transformation and upgrading. She also suggested establishing a demonstration area on robot science and education to improve the education, research and industrialization of intelligent robots.
