Jiading district of Shanghai and Rugao city, Jiangsu province, inked a deal on Dec 26 for strengthened cooperation in industries.

The move was made during the visit of a delegation from Rugao led by its Party Secretary Chen Xiaodong to Jiading.

Ma Chunlei, Party secretary of Jiading, said that the district aims to develop into a place with a strong economy, charming and beautiful landscape, active culture, and cohesive force.

To achieve the goal, Jiading should learn from and seek cooperation with other regions like Rugao.

Ma mentioned that Rugao has industrial advantages, making it a good partner for Jiading. For instance, they can cooperate in the new energy vehicle industry. The R&D of the industry can be launched in Jiading, while the production can be done in Rugao.

Ma also considered that Jiading can learn from Rugao's moves in improving government approval efficiency and optimizing administrative services, and expect frequent exchanges between departments of the two areas.

Chen Xiaodong stated that there have been lots of interactions between the two areas over recent years. A dozen companies have moved from Jiading to Rugao.

Chen also expected strengthened exchanges and cooperation with Jiading in the new energy vehicle industry, because the city has turned its focus to this industry. Rugao now has six new energy vehicle production lines.

Moreover, Chen considered that Jiading's experience in building the new city is worthy of learning.

In the near future, a detailed plan will be made to ensure smooth cooperation between the two areas.
