Major projects to be undertaken in Jiading Industrial Zone

A signing ceremony for 16 major projects with a total investment of 23.2 billion yuan ($3.29 billion) was held on Oct 26 in the Jiading Industrial Zone.

The projects, which involve new energy and new materials, intelligent manufacturing, aerospace, integrated circuits, and other strategic emerging industries, will be carried out in the industrial zone.

Among the signed projects, five have received more than 1 billion yuan in investment and have enormous development potential.

Infintium, a new energy company based in Shanghai, has invested 2 billion yuan in the design, development, and production of hydrogen fuel cells; Shanghai Spaceok Technology Co is carrying out a 1.5 billion yuan project to upgrade satellite products and related applications; and a Shanghai-based aerospace company has invested 4 billion yuan into a project to dismantle and reuse aircrafts.

Meanwhile, Global Super Power, a new energy research and development manufacturing enterprise founded by returning students from overseas and a domestic team of high-end talents that has received 5 billion yuan in investment, will set up a production line in the Jiading Industrial Zone with a production capacity of 1.5 billion ampere-hours and an annual output value exceeding 9 billion yuan.

The Yangtze River Delta Innovation Promotion Association was established on the day of the signing ceremony to advance the coordinated development of science and innovation in the Yangtze River Delta region.
