About the district

Obolon is a district of Kiev, capital of Ukraine. The district covers an area of 110.2 square kilometers and has a population of 306,000. It is an industrial and residential zone. The district was built in the 1970s. Many old buildings in the district are only nine stories high and have less greenery due to its location in a plain area with loose soil. Entering the second construction period (2000-05), the district built many magnificent residential buildings along the Dnieper River, making it an attractive residential area. There is also a bustling business zone along the Dnieper River, where many Kiev residents come to relax.
