Jiading district in Shanghai is making significant progress in expanding its charging facilities for electric vehicles (EVs).
The district had planned to add 500 public and private charging piles this year, and has already completed 1,775, exceeding its targets. This initiative is part of an effort to develop the new energy vehicle industry in the region.
A new supercharging station at Tianlin Plaza in Jiading exemplifies the success of the expansion of charging infrastructure. The station has 40 charging piles with a maximum charging power of 120 kilowatts per gun, allowing for faster charging times. This increased charging efficiency also benefits commercial vehicles, which can now recharge more quickly and easily.
The management of the charging station has introduced a pricing system that includes electricity fees and charging service fees, which vary depending on the time of day. They also offer two hours of free parking for charging vehicles. The station currently serves around 200 vehicles per day, and management aims to increase this capacity to 400 to 500 vehicles daily.
In addition, the station is now connected to the Shanghai charging facility management platform, where users can check the location and service status of the site using various navigation apps or charging platforms.
