Anting town – located in East China's Shanghai Jiading district – and auto manufacturer SAIC Volkswagen Automotive Co signed a groundbreaking agreement on Jan 2.
Anting is home to SAIC Volkswagen's oldest and largest production base in the country and it's aiming to collaborate with the auto giant to shape the future of China's automotive industry.
During the signing ceremony, the Jiading district unveiled a plan that focuses on refining the industry supply chain and its layout.
This will establish a joint investment promotions group to enhance resource integration – allocating more space to support SAIC Volkswagen's growth.
The overarching goal is to strengthen technical capabilities, increase market competitiveness and make a substantial contribution to China's automotive sector.
