In a recent visit to Shanghai by a delegation from the Adan Governorate, Yemen, led by Waheed Ali Rasheed, chairman of Adan Governorate Council, the visitors were able to get a close look at the agricultural and auto industry development in the city's Jiading district.
The deputies were able to get a general idea about the changes after making a field trip to the Shanghai International Circuit, Auto Museum, Huating Vegetable Production Bases, and the City Market Vegetable Production Base, on June 27, at the invitation of the Shanghai Municipal Government.
Adan became a sister city of Shanghai, on Sept 14, 1995 and since that time there have been high-level reciprocal visits, exchanges, and cooperation in trade, other business, education, and culture.
Aden (Governorate) is on the east side of the Gulf of Aden, at the junction of the Red Sea and Indian Ocean, and has long been a trade center for West Asia and North and East Africa. It has a population of about 800,000, on an 8,321-square-kilometer area. It is Yemen's second largest governorate after Sana'a, the capital.
