The district of Jiading, in Shanghai, held a conference, on Jan 20, to highlight property projects of recent years that had outstanding designs or technology, with Cai Xiaofei, deputy head of the district, present to address the gathering. The selection out outstanding works began in May of last year and ran for more than three months, with 30 property companies and 36 projects under examination.
Ultimately, six awards were given out, such as the “My Favorite House” Gold Award and “My Favorite Furnished House” award, based on votes from the public, government departments and an expert panel.
The strongest competitors were in new technology and innovative management and the search revealed new systems used in the projects, such as a Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP) that brings warmth in a greener way, a new air exchange system, and central vacuum cleaner that helps home owners avoid dust.
The awards are meant to encourage developers to have a sense of social responsibility in the future and to lead the industry in infrastructure, quality, energy-efficiency, and safety, and pay more attention to project design and post-sale management.
