Traveling costs nose-dive in Jiading after Spring Festival

During the Spring Festival, skyrocketing travel prices, usually over 10,000 yuan, surprised the locals in the district of Jiading, Shanghai. However, the cost has now fallen back dramatically post-festival.

Caissa Touristic (Group) AG recently released time-limited pre-sale packages, some of which are even 2,000 to 3,000 yuan cheaper than before. The good news has enticed many to plan for a trip.

“It is traditionally the low season for tourism from after the Spring Festival to the end of April,” said Jiang Xinhua, a General Manager of one Jiading’s international travel agencies.

According to him, the prices of traveling to popular tourist destinations, such as Sanya or Xiamen, were 6,000 to 7,000 yuan during the Spring Festival. “But recently prices have begun to fall, and settle at 2,000 to 3,000 yuan.”

The sudden drop in travel prices can mainly be attributed to the prices of flights and accommodation falling back to normal levels.

The same is reflected in overseas travel.

Li Gang, GM of Caissa Touristic (Group) AG noted that the quality of the packages remains the same as during the festival, so tourists shouldn’t need to worry.
