Jiading holds date party on ‘Qixi’

A blind date party was held in Jiangqiao in Shanghai’s Jiading district on August 2, – Chinese Valentine’s Day, or “Qixi”.

Over 100 single men and women from the local villages, communities and enterprises gathered for a good time. They attended interesting games and performances to show off their talents.

The participants were employees of local enterprises and most of them are newcomers to Shanghai, and have less opportunity to know people of their age. In order to increase contacts between single young men and women, the town has held a series of matchmaking activities, a move that been welcomed by the young people.
