Qinghai troupe performs in Jiading

A performance featuring Tibetan customs and culture took the stage in Jiading district of Shanghai on Oct 10. The performance was given by a song and dance troupe from Madoi county in Golog of Northwest China’s Qinghai province.

Lin Jun, director of the district’s publicity department, attended the activity and welcomed the guests.

According to him, Shanghai has constantly enhanced cooperation with Golog in recent years, promoting its economic, social and cultural development. There were 44 cooperation projects between the two sides last year with total investment reaching 200 million yuan ($33 million).

Lin also spoke highly of Madoi’s efforts in exploring regional advantages and finding a green development path featuring highland tourism.

Madoi is in the core region of the Sanjiangyuan Natural Reserve, the source of the Yellow, Yangtze and Lancang (Mekong) rivers. Its area is about 25,000 square kilometers with an average elevation of 4,300 meters.
