Jiading to open direct imported goods market

Shanghai Waigaoqiao Direct Imported Goods (DIG) will open a DIG market in Anting town, Jiading district, Shanghai, by the end of this year, along with five other DIG markets in the city’s Xuhui, Putuo, Qingpu, Fengxian and Jinshan districts, according to He Guoguang, DIG’s general manager.

Anting attracted DIG to settle with its developed tertiary industry and geographic advantages. The town’s tertiary industry added value reached 5.06 billion yuan ($827 million) in the first half of this year, a year-on-year growth of 14.6 percent, 2.7 percent higher than that of the secondary industry.

The Anting DIG market will be located on the ground floor of Fortune Plaza, north of Anting Station of metro Line 11, where people can buy imported food and household products.

According to DIG’s promotion program, it aims to open at least one market in every district of Shanghai and open a market in every big city of the Yangtze River Delta area, such as Wenzhou, Ningbo and Changzhou, in the next stage, said He.
