Jiading opens ceramics art museum

( chinadaily.com.cn ) 2014-12-31

The Shanghai Furen Ceramics Art Museum opened in Jiading, Shanghai, on Dec 27.

Established by Ding Furen, a famous local ceramics collector, the museum displays over 5,000 ceramic collections including art sculptures, vitrolite paintings and vases. Among the exhibits, there are a total of 273 pieces of vitrolite works, which replicate the calligraphic works of 89 ancient Chinese calligraphers.

Ding's obsession with ceramics can be traced back from his work experience related to ceramics in Jiangxi 20 years ago. His collections combine Chinese ceramic arts with historical culture.

The museum is located on No 58, Weiwu Road, Nanxiang town. It opens to the public for free from 9:00 am to 12:00 am every day.
