Han culture lures students

( chinadaily.com.cn ) 2015-08-17

Jiading district of Shanghai has recently launched a summer program to promote traditional Chinese culture among local teenagers, the local media reported.

Lectures on culture of the Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 220) were given by teachers from Shanghai Hanweiyang Traditional Culture Promotion Center, which is committed to promote traditional Chinese culture in Shanghai.

The Han Dynasty period was an age of great economic, technological, cultural and social prosperities in the history of China. Its laws, customs, literature and education were largely guided by the philosophy and ethical system of Confucianism.

Through this program, teenage students can get a better understanding of Han's traditional culture by learning its manners, clothes, dances as well as playing the games.

According to local authorities, more such activities will be held when the center launches an office in Jiading.
