As an international automobile city, Anting town of Shanghai's Jiading district again posted positive economic results in the first half of 2015, the local media reported.
According to statistics, Anting's total fiscal revenue reached 10 billion yuan ($1.6 billion) in the first half of this year, ranking first among all towns of Jiading.
The industry experts believe that the achievements resulted from local government's efforts in facilitating its auto industry as well as developing the health sector.
Anting focused on the comprehensive development of its auto industry chains, including auto manufacturing, R&D, finance, trading, and auto cultural information industry.
Its total output value of auto parts amounted to 47.8 billion yuan, up by 7.7 percent year-on-year. The sales of automobiles also increased 6.2 percent year-on-year.
So far, some 84 technology centers, 120 high-tech companies and 57 cultural information companies with a registered capital of over 1 million yuan have settled down in the town. The town has also introduced some 11 emerging financial enterprises covering equity fund, financial information service and financial leasing.
In addition, the local government has been promoting its construction of the international electric vehicle demonstration zone by introducing six advanced new energy vehicles.
Apart from the auto industry, Anting also vied to develop its health industry as a new engine to boost its economy. Taking advantage of the earlier-settled hospital and national scientific center, the local government is planning to build an integrate system of health industry too.
