The Shanghai Truron Testing Technology Co, a professional institution working on testing, accreditation and technical services for battery products, said that it will establish an office in the Jiading Industrial Zone, based on an agreement it signed with the zone on Nov 23.

This move is expected to give a boost to the zone's emerging industries, particularly the new energy industry.

According to the agreement, the company will rent a 10,000-square-meter area in the zone as its laboratories and offices.

One of its managers said that when it moves into the zone, the company will set up a three-year plan – getting listed on the New Third Board in the first quarter of 2016, an over-the-counter market for small businesses; making its total revenue exceed 100 million yuan ($15.7 million) with net profit over 30 million yuan by the year 2018.

The Shanghai Truron Testing Technology Co, established in 1999 is a high-tech company that received the recognition of the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment. And due to its advanced equipment and experienced technicians, its laboratories also received recognition as the Certification Body Testing Lab (CBTL) by the International Electrotechnical Commission.

Local authorities said that bringing in the Truron Testing was one of the zone's efforts to promote the development of emerging industries that are considered as important drives for the innovation and transformation of the zone. Statistics show that in the first three quarters of 2015, the output value of the zone's emerging industries reached 13.4 billion yuan, which accounts for 33.5 percent of Jiading's total output value.
