A cultural and sports center, named X-Cube at Nanxiang Town of Shanghai's Jiading district is slated to go operational in May 2016, local media reported on Jan 23.
Situated at the Nanxiang Shineland Industrial Park, the center aims to meet various needs of local residents by offering a variety of sports activities, culture, arts and entertainment facilities.
Covering a combined area of 15,000 square meters, the center has been jointly developed by local government and two private enterprises. This Public-Private Partnership model is conducive to improving the quality of public service, since it helps raise funds and bring in top management professionals, said local authorities.
Sports fans can have all kinds of sports activities at the center, such as football, basketball, badminton, squash, golf and baseball. Training lessons on yoga, taekwondo, fencing and roller-skating are also available there.
Moreover, diversified sports events will be organized to promote the development of local sports industry.
Leisure entertainment will also be an indispensible part of the center. People can watch movies, enjoy delicious food, go shopping and have family activities at the center.
To make sure that the residents can enjoy more benefits, all the sports facilities at the center will be open to the public for free or at a cheaper price from 8:00am to 3:00pm on weekdays. The center will also send out coupons for its exercise training courses.
