A music concert by the China Oriental Song and Dance Ensemble, a national art troupe will kick off in Jiading district of Shanghai on March 11, local media reported on Feb 22.
Classical songs of different countries as well as regions, such as Europe's Edelweiss and Casablanca, Russia's Katyusha, China's Songhua River and Nanniwan will be presented at the concert to give local residents a taste of old songs.
Performances will be given in a new and interesting way, enabling the audience to enjoy the charm of music.
According to local officials, the concert is part of the ensemble's "Sound of the Orient" project, which aims to remind people of the history and the hope for the future through various art performances.
Established in 1962, the China Oriental Song and Dance Ensemble has stuck to its mission of international cultural exchanges. It keeps introducing Chinese folk arts to the world and also bringing in top foreign music and dance works to the Chinese people.
