The Shanghai Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau opened an office in the city's Jiading district on April 11, local media reported.
The move was approved by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine in last August. The new office will be in charge of the inspection, quarantine and sanitization of import and export containers, as well as issuing certificate of origin for import and export goods.
Several government officials attended the inauguration ceremony of the office and delivered speeches.

Ma Chunlei, Party chief of Jiading said that the district will give strong support to the office and ensure it provides better services for local companies. Ma also expected that the municipal bureau will continue to support Jiading's import and export firms and help promote its foreign trade sector.
Gao Yun, head of the district said that the office will help advance the district's industrial transformation and reach its goal of becoming a scientific and technological innovation center.
Yu Taiwei, director of Shanghai Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau vowed that they will gain a better understanding of the needs of Jiading's import and export enterprises and give them better services through the newly-established office.
