Jiading district of Shanghai is endeavoring to build a core region highlighting scientific and technological innovation and featuring convenient transportation, adequate infrastructure facilities and a complete range of services, according to local media.
Jiading's ultimate goal is to turn this region into a leading innovation zone with a high concentration of innovative elements, an entrepreneurial atmosphere and a beautiful environment.
To reach that goal, Jiading will bring in domestic and overseas talents, develop new financial tools, accelerate the commercialization of research findings in the district, and build platforms for sharing technological resources.
The core region will comprise six individual areas, including an innovation center, an industrial development hub, a science and technology corridor, an independent industrialization center, an industry-university-research cooperation demonstration zone and an ecological functional zone.
To become a perfect center for entrepreneurship and innovation, the core region will be committed to establishing sound service systems to lure more entrepreneurs to invest in Jiading, providing larger funds to yield better results, and exploring new approaches for industry-university-research cooperation.
