Located in Jiading's Nanxiang town, the Guyi Garden was built during the reign of Emperor Wanli of the Ming Dynasty (1574-1620). The largest of Shanghai's five classical Chinese gardens, it covers an area of nearly 10 hectares and was one of the most famous gardens in South China during the Ming Dynasty. The Ming-style architecture and stone-paved paths lined with flowers represent the main appeals of the garden.
