Jiading district of Shanghai has recently launched an intangible cultural heritage-themed exhibition tour around local schools, communities, and enterprises to increase the exposure of its rich cultural heritage.
The exhibition uses pictures to introduce the history of local intangible cultural heritage items, such as Jiading bamboo carving, Xuhang straw weaving, Shanghai-style paper cut-outs, and Huangyang-style wood carving with the aim of raising public awareness of intangible cultural heritage inheritance and the importance of their protection.

In total, 14 sites have been chosen as destinations for the exhibition, including Shanghai Dazhong Technical school, Jiading No. 1 High School, Malu Primary School, Nanxiang Primary School, Jiading town cultural center, Zhenxin street cultural and sports service center.
The exhibition will last for two weeks at each site and the entire tour is slated to come to a close at the end of this year.
Sponsors of the event are Jiading Administration of Culture, Radio, Film &TV, Jiading Cultural Center, and Jiading Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Office.
