A football league launched by the University Alumni Association of Football Shanghai to attract auto talents to Anting in Jiading district, Shanghai will kick off in September.

Anting is a key center of China's automotive industry, home to Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation and the Sino-German joint venture Shanghai Volkswagen Automotive.

Football teams consisting of auto talents from 48 universities including Tsinghua University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and Beihang University will take part in the competition.

Sponsors of the football league include the Anting government, and a local private economy development company.

In June, the Pan-University Alumni Association was established in Anting with about 300 alumni from 23 universities coming together to give suggestions on the development of China's auto industry.

Anting has always strived to gather auto talents from universities. With the help of the football league, the town will attempt to make full use of the social networking between Shanghai alumni to attract more auto professionals in the future.
