Shanghai's Jiading district will actively replicate the innovative systems and policies of the new area of Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ) this year to promote lower-cost custom clearance, a better business environment and supervision, and optimized services.
The innovative practices include boosting Shanghai Jiading Export Processing Zone's transformation into a comprehensive free trade zone, speeding up the construction of Jingdong's cross-border project, cross-border e-commerce intelligent industrial park and one-stop service platform of cross-border e-commerce, implementing Jiading's opening-up measures, accelerating the introduction of foreign investment and the technologies of key industries, and forming a new open economic system.
Jiading will also step up efforts to cooperate with departments and institutions such as the Shanghai Stock Exchange. This will help companies in the district go public on the science and technology innovation board and promote the cooperation of industry and finance.
It will also strengthen the cultivation of high-tech enterprises and support them in building technology centers that foster an innovative enterprise cluster. The number of high-tech enterprises is expected to reach 1,100 in 2019.
In addition, Jiading will encourage leading companies, universities and research institutes to build maker spaces based on different industries and offer sci-tech start-ups precise incubation services.
To keep pace with the Yangtze River Delta's integrative development, Jiading will deepen cooperation with Suzhou and Wenzhou, pushing forward the construction of carriers such as a demonstration area for the deep integration of the advanced manufacturing industry.
The Scientific Technology Fair for the Yangtze River Delta Region will also be held this year to enhance sci-tech innovation services and work with neighboring districts and cities in innovating with regards to social management, including enterprise establishment and resource sharing, further communication and collaboration.
