Cities in the Yangtze River Delta have been striving to boost cross-regional development with a focus on joint Party construction and the general public.
Shanghai's Jiading district, together with the China Executive Leadership Academy of Pudong, Jiangsu's Suzhou city and Zhejiang's Wenzhou city inaugurated an institute for the Party-masses innovative development of Yangtze River Delta cities on Feb 26.
Zhang Xi, Party secretary of Jiading district, noted that the Yangtze River Delta cities are trying to link the regions closer with joint Party-masses construction. The institute will focus on research into such topics as Party-construction system innovation and supportive mechanisms to promote the quality economic growth of Yangtze River Delta areas.
Since last year, Jiading, Suzhou and Wenzhou have worked together to explore deep integration of Party-construction and regional coordinated development. To date, 21 Party-construction projects and 13 Party-masses construction projects have been implemented.
In addition, Jiading has partnered with Suzhou on Jiading-Kunshan-Taicang innovative development and also worked with Wenzhou to build a demonstration area for trans-regional integrated development. The efforts have included signing of multiple cooperative projects, resource sharing of sci-tech innovation platforms, establishment of a Yangtze River Delta auto innovation alliance, and construction of a coordinated development circle for the auto industry in the Yangtze River Delta.
