It's time of the year to get out and enjoy the blooming chrysanthemums in Jiading district of Shanghai.
Jiading Huilongtan Park, a sub venue of this year's China Chrysanthemum Exhibition, is filled with different varieties of chrysanthemum for the enjoyment of visitors during these chilly autumn days.
Nearly 200 varieties of the flower are on display in the park, along with a series of creative flower arrangements.
Visitors will also have the chance to participate in cultural activities during the exhibition, such as a flower-arranging competition, chrysanthemum photography competition and traditional Han costume (hanfu) shows.
The exhibition will run until Nov 26.
The chrysanthemum is a unique symbol in Chinese culture. As one of the only flowers to bloom in late autumn, it is a symbol of strong vitality and tenacity in the eyes of scholars.
The flower, together with the plum blossom, orchid and bamboo, has been regarded as one of the four symbols of noble characters by Chinese scholars since ancient times.
