Aptiv, a global leading auto technology supplier, began operations in the Shanghai Auto City in Jiading district in 1995, and has become one of the largest auto wire producers in China.
Currently, the company is a supplier to almost all automakers in China, including Shanghai General Motors, Shanghai GM Dongyue, Shanghai Volkswagen, Faw-Volkswagen, Ford, Toyota, Nissan, Peugeot, Chery and Brilliance.
The company has three major product lines in China: electronic/electric distribution system, coupling system and machinery electronic system. The electric/electronic system provides full-range auto system solutions and can effectively and reliably manage the content and complexity of the whole auto electric system. The main products include wires, ignition wires and primary coils.
Its parent company Aptiv announced in April 2019 the expansion of its autonomous driving capabilities to the Chinese market with the establishment of a China Autonomous Mobility Center, aiming to test and develop autonomous vehicles in Shanghai.
