Brose, a Germany-based automotive supplier, has been on the front lines helping to shape the future of the automobile for over a century. Its products enhance vehicle comfort, safety and efficiency and has obtained a wide range patents in lightweight design, electronically commutated motors, and door and seat systems.
The company has about 26,000 employees working at 64 locations in 24 countries and has generated $6.9 billion euros in turnover.
Brose entered the Chinese market by establishing a joint venture in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu province in 1996. It set up an Asian headquarters in Anting town of Jiading district in 2005 and built a joint venture of Shanghai Brose Electric Motors Co., Ltd in 2008. Its Brose Shanghai Automotive Components Co., Ltd started operation of window regulators, seat systems, power steering motors, cooling fan modules, and power liftgates in 2010. Brose China separated from Brose Asia in 2015 and was for the first time being named "Top Employers China 2017" for its employee offerings, signifying recognition of the company's efforts in local talent development.
A new headquarters in Shanghai was opened in 2017. It is the steering center of three business divisions along with development, manufacturing engineering, purchasing, quality, and other central functions activities for the China region. It also acts as the technical competence center for in-house testing of material and products, product development, and prototype verification. The HQ also supports the company's business footprints in Japan, South Korea and Thailand.
