Precision medicine in Jiading district, Shanghai, has become one of the district's emerging industry clusters, local media reported May 28.
The Shanghai (Nanxiang) Precision Medicine Industrial Park, founded in November 2018 in the district's Nanxiang town, is speeding up efforts to set up an industrial ecosphere of precision medicine, aiming to promote the district as a highland for the industrialization of precision medicine.
Chen Yunzhu, director of the Jiading Science and Technology Committee, said that Jiading, a key supporting area for the Shanghai Technology Innovation Center, has attached great importance to the development of the frontier fields of science and technology, in an effort to make it an innovative and vibrant city.
In recent years, Jiading has introduced a number of innovative platforms for accelerating its scientific and technological level, as well as promoting the integrated and synergized development of industries, universities, research institutes and end users, with the aim of advancing the high-quality development of precision medicine.
The Shanghai (Nanxiang) Precision Medicine Industrial Park is now a gathering place for many high-quality projects such as GensKey, an infection diagnosis company based in Beijing, and has attracted more than 300 outstanding talents from at home and abroad to start up businesses in the park.
Designed to facilitate innovation, the park helps companies overcome difficulties, save money on research and development, commercialize their innovations, and shorten the time between scientific research and clinical applications.
Sun Pengjun, chairman of the park, said that it will focus on promoting the industrialization of precision medicine, and will offer support and incubation services to help excellent technologies in precision medicine speed up industrialization.
