( english.jiading.gov.cn ) 2020-06-10

Health reports for patients in Shanghai will be linked and mutually recognized among hospitals in the city starting this November, according to Wu Jinglei, director of the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission.

Wu said that a total of 35 medical examinations and medical imaging examinations will be linked and recognized by 38 municipal public medical institutions in Shanghai.

"We are planning to enhance interconnectivity and mutual recognition among all medical institutions, and attach great importance to the medical image reports," Wu added.

"Currently, there are nine districts, including Xuhui, Jing'an, Putuo and Jiading, which have uploaded medical images, and seven other districts are currently undergoing tests," according to Wu.

He also noted that interconnectivity and recognition work will be pushed forward in the Yangtze River Delta integration demonstration zone.

Local authorities said that the move will increase the efficiency of health resources, reduce costs of patients and simplify medical care procedures in order to provide safe, effective, convenient and affordable medical and health care services.
