One individual and a group from Jiading district in Shanghai were commended as role models for their contributions to the country's fight against the COVID-19 epidemic at a meeting held in Beijing Sept 8.
Shen Biao, Party secretary of Beiguan village in Jiading, played an active role in promoting the normalization of epidemic prevention and control, and helping boost the resumption of work and production.
Beiguan village has more than 130 enterprises and a floating population of 8,000, which brought high pressure on its epidemic prevention and control work. Shen and his team developed a targeted proposal and completely closed the village.
A 24-hour monitoring and management system was launched, and special teams were set up to make quick responses to suppress the novel coronavirus. Thanks to the efforts of Shen and his team, Beiguan village had no confirmed or suspected COVID-19 cases.
Shanghai United Imaging, a Jiading-based advanced medical product company, won the honorary title of national model group in the fight against the epidemic. The company donated a batch of medical imaging equipment and supplies to virus-hit areas, and sent a team to the front lines of epidemic containment in Wuhan and Hubei province, which made great contributions to the country's fight against the epidemic.
