Jiading district in Shanghai will build two transportation hubs and boost its transport network over the course of the 14th Five-Year-Plan period (2021-2025), aiming to develop the district into a key pivot city in the Yangtze River Delta region, according to a local news report on Dec 8.
The two transportation hubs to be built are Anting North Station and Jiading North Station.
Local authorities said that Anting North Station, lying at the intersection of the Beijing-Shanghai Railway, Shanghai-Nanjing Railway and Shanghai-Suzhou-Nantong Railway, will become a key transportation hub in Jiading and Shanghai.
The district will also work to expand Shanghai Metro Line 14 westward in order to alleviate heavy passenger traffic on the existing metro lines.
A new subway line - Jiamin Line - will be put into construction next June. The new line will link Jiading North Station in Jiading and Xinzhuang North Station in Minhang district to Taicang in East China's Jiangsu province and will shorten the travel time between Taicang and downtown Shanghai to just an hour, as well as further accelerate the integration of regions in the Yangtze River Delta.
