The new plant of the Shanghai Hydrogen Propulsion Technology Company (SHPT) is currently in its phase-out period and is set to be put into operation this May, according to a local news report.
The new plant, with a combined investment of 500 million yuan ($77.33 million), covers a gross floor area of 42,300 square meters, and has eight main buildings. Authorities said that the new plant will improve the research and development (R&D) ability of SHPT, and accelerate the industrialization process of fuel cells by large-scale production.
Founded in Shanghai's Jiading district in 2018, SHPT is committed to promoting the development of the hydrogen fuel cell industry and opening a new chapter in the hydrogen era in China.
The company's authorities said that Jiading is currently building a hydrogen energy industrial park with global competitiveness, and SHPT's new plant will continue to upgrade its standards to meet advanced international ones and offer support to domestic leading hydrogen energy enterprises to fix its weak links.
