The jaunty and uplifting Spring Festival decorations in Guyi Garden in Nanxiang town – in the Jiading district of East China's Shanghai – attracted a great deal of positive attention recently, filling the venue with traditional festive holiday cheer that was enjoyed thoroughly by visitors.

"The park has a typical Jiangnan-style garden featuring traditional Chinese buildings, bridges and a flowing stream," said a woman visitor surnamed Lu.

A new Shanghai resident, she went to the park to celebrate, choosing to remain instead of returning to her hometown in order to help reduce the risk of novel coronavirus transmissions during the holiday.
