Further advanced three new tasks
Jiading sped up the integration of the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) last year, with a number of projects being promoted during the period, including the Jiading-Wenzhou Joint Innovation Park, and 40 Jiading hospitals achieved the direct settlement of hospitalized expense in the YRD region. The Third Scientific Fair for the Yangtze River Delta Region was held both online and offline in Jiading last year and was attended by more than 500 enterprises from 32 YRD cities including Shanghai, Hefei, and Suzhou.
Continued efforts to build itself as a key area supporting Shanghai's role as a science and innovation hub
In the past year, Jiading has pursued innovation-driven development and facilitated the integrated innovation and synergized development of companies, industries, universities, research institutes, and end users. Statistics show that the transaction value of technology contracts reached more than 22.56 billion yuan ($3.46 billion) last year, a year-on-year increase of 178.2 percent.
Carried forward rural revitalization strategy
Living conditions for residents improved and 1,231 rural families were relocated to centralized residential areas. Affordable housing, sponsored by the local government, is also being built.
Lianyi village won the title "China's most beautiful leisure village" and Beiguan, Zhoujing, and Maoqiao villages are working to become municipal-level demonstration villages for rural revitalization.
Farmers' incomes increased and 93 rural collective economic organizations received 280 million yuan in dividends, an increase of 11.1 percent year-on-year.
4.Optimized urban layout with beautiful landscapes and complete infrastructure
Improved local infrastructure system
Following a comprehensive district plan, Jiading has made plans to renovate old towns, and supporting facilities for public services are continuing to improve.
Public transit was improved by adjusting 13 bus lines, and the total length of bus lines in Jiading reached 680 kilometers last year.
Continued to improve the environment
By rolling out the seventh three-year environmental protection plan, Jiading cracked down on 852 illegal acts harmful to the environment and 87 enterprises that discharged illegal pollutants into waters.
Squatter settlements covering an area of 178,000 square meters were torn down, 800 ha of ecological corridors were built, and 78.6 ha of grassy areas were added last year.
Made breakthroughs in social governance innovation
A long-term management and working system was set up by the Jiading government and continuous efforts were made to improve the quality of community governance.
"Beautiful Home" construction continued. Thirty-two communities set up charging facilities for electric bicycles and 213,000 sq m of old houses were renovated.
Furthered smart city construction
An integrated management system was established by taking full advantage of advanced technology. Jiading also pushed forward the development of e-government services.
