Z-One signed an agreement with Shanghai International Automobile City (SIAC) in Jiading district on Dec 7 to settle in SIAC as an independent subsidiary of SAIC Motors.
Z-One specializes in offering full stack technology solutions for smart vehicles, including SOA software platforms, OTA and internet security, as well as data of smart vehicles.
The cooperation with SIAC marks the transformation of SAIC Motors becoming a consumer high-technology company, said Li Jun, CEO of Z-One. SAIC Motors announced in April that the company will invest 300 billion yuan ($47.25 billion) in innovative fields like smart and electric vehicles in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period.
As "software defines vehicles", Z-One has carried out deep research and development on solutions for new-generation smart vehicles. It is expected to realize mass production of high-end electric vehicles in 2024.
The cooperation also shows Jiading district's determination to boost its automobile industry. In recent years, the district has been bolstering its efforts to develop its automobile industry, with an emphasis on introducing and supporting leading companies in the industry.
