On March 20 and 21, Shanghai's Jiading district hosted a six-hour online concert to inspire people during the COVID-19 epidemic's containment and prevention.
Ninety-eight art performances, including poetry recitations, piano performances, storytelling, operas, orchestras, and choruses were performed online to entertain audiences.
Renowned musicians such as erhu player Ma Xiaohui, young pianist Liu Sisi, young vocalist Cai Xiaoyan, and Croatian cello player Ana Rucner performed during the online concert.
"As an artist, I feel my mission is to convey the spirit of great and boundless love through music," said Ma Xiaohui.
In addition, many folk musicians and local residents signed up to perform at the concert. Wen Ruoxin, a Zijing Primary School student, applied for the event with a recorded piano performance to thank the front-line medical staff and volunteers fighting the pandemic.
