Shanghai Intelligent Sensor Industrial Park in Jiading district has fully resumed operations since the city began resuming work and production on June 1.

As a result of this, the capacity utilization rate of Shanghai Simgui Technology Co, a high-tech enterprise engaged in the research, development and production of high-end silicon-based chip materials, has recovered to over 91 percent.

With the resumption of production capacity, the company will focus on developing new products and exploring new markets, according to Wang Qingyu, the company's general manager.

Before the latest COVID-19 epidemic outbreak, SGR Semiconductors Inc, another company in the industrial park, was focusing on the research and development of two new products.

The company's initial batch of employees returned to work from home and utilized the company's equipment to perform repetitive testing and verifications on the items they designed when they had to work from home due to the recent COVID-19 outbreak in Shanghai to guarantee that they met the requirement.

Currently, these two products have been launched and will be applied to a slew of intelligent terminal products such as intelligent lighting, intelligent refrigerators and intelligent toilets. Mass production has already been achieved for some terminals.

During the pandemic, Shanghai Intelligent Sensor Industrial Park was bolstering its efforts to ensure the development and production of enterprises and their projects, and attract investment and business.

Since March, the industrial park has attracted eight enterprises specializing in sectors such as integrated circuits and intelligent sensors.

Based on Jiading district's resources in industries and research and development, the industrial park will strive to develop itself into an industrial highland in Shanghai, the Yangtze River Delta region, and even nationwide, by promoting the construction and development of new production lines, and completing the layout of the industrial chain of intelligent sensors.
