The 2022 Intellectual Property Commercialization Operation Conference was held in Jiading district on Sept 16, and focused on Chinese enterprises' development in the metaverse sector, as well as the operation and protection of IP commercialization.
Jiading district's Juyuan New Area signed a cooperation agreement with an IP service cluster, which was established based on the IP Yangtze River Delta region alliance (IPYRD). The cluster has introduced nine IP-related organizations to settle in Juyuan New Area.
Jiading district's first IP company that received investments and was built by the government and organizations was unveiled at the conference. The company became operational in January and has been working on over 10 projects with scientific research institutions in the district.
Metaverse patent pool – sensor innovation center project of IPwe, a large IP management solution provider, was also launched at the conference.
The Metaverse patent pool makes full use of exponential technologies such as artificial intelligence and blockchain, reducing the costs associated with patent evaluations and transactions, among other processes, by 80 percent. The pool is more conducive to promoting the large-scale adoption of innovative technologies, according to Wang Zhitao, president of IPwe China.
To date, Jiading district ranks third in Shanghai in terms of the number of valid patents and the number of valid registered trademarks.
