Recently, four enterprises specializing in the metaverse industry signed contracts with Jiading Online New Economy Industrial Park to relocate to the park.
As one of the four enterprises, Shanghai Weshi Network Technology Co provides virtual reality (VR) solution services and thinks highly of the park's portfolio in the metaverse industry. According to Qian Longyan, chief executive officer (CEO) of the enterprise, they hope to give full play to the combined effect of the park and realize coordinated and steady development.
According to Wang Jia, general-manager of Shanghai Jiayi Culture Media Co, which is the operator of the park, the four enterprises all have deeply plowed into the metaverse field, which is why their contracts are of great importance.
Shanghai puts great value on the development of the metaverse industry. In February, an association was established in Jiading to promote its metaverse industry with a focus on video games, tourism and entertainment. In July 2022, an action plan was released that allows the metaverse industry in the city to enjoy a scale of 350 billion yuan ($50.51 billion), driving the scale of the city's software and information service industry to 1.5 trillion yuan.
