The second World Metaverse Conference will take place in Anting town, Jiading district, Shanghai from Sept 20 to 22.
Co-hosted by the Chinese Simulation Society, the Chinese Command and Control Society, and the Beijing Institute of Technology, the conference aims to address key issues in metaverse technology development, showcase technological achievements, and promote collaboration and innovation.
The conference will feature prominent speakers like Miguel Nicolellis, who is known as the "father of the brain-computer interface", and Xu Bin, director of the Metaverse and Computing Creative Research Center of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, both of whom will share insights into the past, present, and future of the metaverse.
Over 500 metaverse-related companies will participate in the conference and exhibit groundbreaking technologies such as artificial intelligence-generated content, spatial computing, intelligent coding, and Web3 operating systems.
The metaverse industry is seen as a future-oriented industry with significant market potential and various application scenarios. Last year, Shanghai launched an action plan to foster the development of the metaverse industry.
Jiading, where the conference will take place, has been actively promoting the development of the industry by accelerating its integration into various sectors. With the rise of intelligent networked vehicles, Jiading sees potential in combining the automotive industry with the metaverse industry. Anting, a key area for the automotive industry, is aiming to become a hub for the development of metaverse technologies in the automotive sector.
Anting town has been leveraging its core advantage in the automobile industry to pave the way for the metaverse industry's future. A new automotive metaverse industrial park called Yuanchuangwan in the town is expected to have an industrial scale exceeding 100 billion yuan ($13.66 billion).
Anting town is also introducing a metaverse industry development fund to support the growth of enterprises in this sector. Its aim is to establish Yuanchuangwan as a leading destination for the automotive metaverse industry and showcase the potential for collaboration and technological advancements in this field.
