Jiading district in Shanghai has seen a surge in trade deals at this year's China International Import Expo (CIIE), with its trade group securing purchasing intentions worth $322 million, a 19.7 percent increase from the previous year, according to official data.
The district's trade deals are primarily related to automobiles, personal care items, cosmetics, industrial automation, and robots.
An increasing number of companies in Jiading have in recent years recognized the potential of the CIIE as a valuable platform via which to enter the Chinese market.

Volvo Cars, a regular attendee at the CIIE, again showcased their latest automotive innovations this year. Liu Ying, Vice-President of Government Affairs for Volvo Cars Asia-Pacific, said that the company is committed to utilizing this high-quality platform to consolidate its presence in China. Jiading is home to the Asia-Pacific headquarters of Volvo Cars.

Another major company that attended the expo this year was Amore Pacific, which exhibited a diverse range of beauty and skincare products. A representative from company, which is situated in Jiading's Malu town, said that the CIIE is a vital avenue to comprehend and uncover market opportunities in China as well as introduce new products.
