Shanghai's Jiading district will host 20 international and domestic sporting events this year. These events are part of the newly released Shanghai International and Domestic Sporting Events Plan for 2024.
The events include the highly anticipated F1 Chinese Grand Prix, the 2024 FIA Formula E World Championship, the 2024 Chinese Slingshot World Cup, the 2024 Tour of Shanghai·Xincheng Cycling Race, and the 2024 CLPGQ - Shanghai Series.
Jiading will also host the 2024 National Table Tennis Club League (Shanghai Jiading Station), the fourth Shanghai Chess Masters Open, and the 15th National Games Croquet Qualifying Tournament.
In April 2024, Jiading will play a significant role in the fourth Shanghai Citizen's Games, a year-long event aimed at engaging people from all walks of life.
By hosting these events, Jiading aims to promote the concept of a "people's city" and leverage the power of sports to boost urban development. These initiatives will contribute to the establishment of a comprehensive public fitness service system and support Jiading's ambition to become a model city for sports and fitness at the national level. Furthermore, Jiading's efforts are aligned with the city's vision of becoming an internationally renowned sports city.
