During the 2024 Spring Festival holiday, major attractions in Shanghai's Jiading district launched a variety of cultural and tourism activities, all of which attracted a large number of visitors.

According to official data, a total of 608,174 visitors flocked to nine A-level tourist attractions in the area during the holiday, representing a 105.83 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

These locations include the "Fish and Dragon Dance"-themed lantern exhibition at Nanxiang Old Street, the spring exploration experience at Guyi Garden, and the drumming blessings at Anting Old Street's Yong'an Tower.

At Shanghai's first intangible cultural heritage-themed park — Guyi Garden — over 10 unique lantern installations and nearly 1,000 traditional festival lanterns were set up, captivating many visitors and allowing them to experience the dual charm of classical gardens and traditional Chinese culture.

"The lantern appreciation and garden touring activities will continue until Feb 24. Visitors who come after the Spring Festival holiday can avoid the large crowds, which is also a good choice," said Zhu Lin, a staff member at Guyi Garden.

Public interest in exhibitions and cultural activities still remains high. The Shanghai Auto Museum presents an immersive automotive culture extravaganza for visitors. Rural leisure activities, such as countryside sightseeing, camping, and barbecuing, also continue to gain popularity.

During this holiday period, Jiading's cultural venues meticulously prepared a diverse array of activities to celebrate the festival with visitors. Data shows that these cultural venues organized 494 activities and received 97,000 visitors.
