Celebrate Lantern Festival at Fahua Pagoda

Shanghai's Jiading district is ready to celebrate the Lantern Festival, which falls on Feb 24 this year, with an Intangible Cultural Heritage Market, immersive performances, lantern shows, and interactive activities at the Fahua Pagoda.

From 18:00 to 20:30 on Feb 24, visitors can enjoy lantern riddles, immersive performances, and various interactive experiences at the enchanting Fahua Pagoda.

Lantern Show:

The Fahua Pagoda will be adorned with lanterns, and visitors will be able to enjoy lantern riddles and have the chance to win prizes.

Immersive Performance:

The immersive performance will be presented twice on Feb 24 at 18:00 and 19:30. From the perspective of the protagonist, the performance will feature seven components, including drumming, skits, lantern markets, traditional dancing, blessings, and a parade. Audience members will be able to follow the main character, moving from one scene to another, experiencing new emotions with each change of scenery.

Park Activities and Blessings:

From inside Fahua Pagoda to the South Street outside, there will be various immersive activities involving wishing and blessing photography, lantern riddles, lantern market experiences, traditional Chinese games, face painting, Jiangnan embroidery, Hanfu experiences, traditional Chinese cultural and creative products, dragon lanterns and decorations, Hanfu processions, and lantern parade blessings.
