Anting town, located in Shanghai's Jiading district, has unveiled ambitious plans for 2024, aiming to solidify its position as a hub for automotive innovation and development.
It aims to complete 30 fixed investment projects with a total investment of 12.1 billion yuan ($16.75 billion) while attracting new businesses and increasing tax revenue. The goals were announced during a special investment promotion and commendation conference on March 19.
Last year, Anting town achieved remarkable economic success, leading in key economic indicators such as industrial output value and local fiscal revenue in the district. In terms of investment attraction, the town excelled, surpassing regional targets by welcoming 7,836 new registered enterprises and successfully bringing in 89 projects worth over 1 billion yuan, signing 19 projects at the municipal level and 90 projects at the district level.
This year's focus is set to be supporting SAIC Volkswagen's transformation, attracting Audi's new energy sales company and production base, and expediting the establishment of key projects such as the ZF passive safety project, Aptiv Wind River project, and Schaeffler's innovation center. Efforts are also set to be directed toward filling the gap in the "coating" sector and attracting high-quality projects.
Anting town is set to focus on attracting investment from key regions and countries, establishing an investment office in Munich, Germany, and developing green and low-carbon initiatives, including building research institutes and innovation centers in Jiading Hydrogen Energy Port.
