The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship race is scheduled to take place on May 25 and 26 at the Shanghai International Circuit in Jiading district, Formula E CEO Jeff Dodds said during a recent press conference in Shanghai.
According to Dodds, the all-electric car series was born in Beijing with its first race back in 2014 and the return to the Chinese mainland in season ten is of great significance.
"It is a special honor for Formula E to race in Shanghai for the first time in May. As we celebrate a decade of pioneering all-electric motorsport. China's leadership in electric vehicle innovation and passionate sporting fan base make Shanghai the perfect venue. We're thrilled to introduce fans in Shanghai to the exhilarating world of Formula E, promising up to 200mph speeds and more than 100 overtakes in most races," Dodds said.
"The FIA Formula E World Championship, as one of the world's top events, represents the future of automotive development trends and cutting-edge technology," said Wei Xiaodong, deputy governor of Jiading district municipal government.
"As the first international demonstration zone for electric vehicles and intelligent connected vehicles in China, we are honored that this event has been chosen to be held in Jiading. We look forward to hearing the audience's cheers at the Shanghai International Circuit, and also letting them enjoy 'Fast and Furious', historical culture and natural scenery in Jiading and have unforgettable and beautiful memories," Wei said.
The ticket is now available on the Kan Ge Bi Sai APP and its WeChat mini program. The one-day ticket price starts at 249 yuan ($34.5), while the two-day package pricing is the highest at 799 yuan.
Beyond the track, the Allianz Fan Village also offers an array of activities, including immersive entertainment, exploratory experiences, and innovations that captivate and engage visitors of all ages.
