Anting town in Shanghai's Jiading district signed a partnership with the renowned ZF Group on April 22 to establish the ZF Passive Safety Systems Asia-Pacific Headquarters and R&D Center there.
ZF Group, a globally recognized automotive parts supplier, is committed to delivering next-generation mobility system products for passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and industrial technology sectors. With its leading positions in automotive transmission, chassis, and safety technologies, the company has been a part of China's automotive landscape since 1981. It currently operates nearly 50 factories and four R&D centers, employing over 20,000 staff.
The signed project with Anting will focus on intelligent safety system development and offer smart solutions for the Asia-Pacific and global markets, which is in alignment with Jiading's industrial goals.
The project includes renovating the Taidong Business Building for ZF's use, with completion expected by July this year. A 3,500-square-meter R&D lab will follow by mid-next year.
Upon its completion, the project is projected to generate an economic contribution of nearly 80 million yuan ($11.07 million) in annual taxes for the first five years, and this figure is set to increase to 120 million yuan annually thereafter.
