The 20th Shanghai International RV and Camping Exhibition, held from Aug 9 to 11 at the Shanghai Automobile Exhibition Center in Jiading district, showcased over 600 RVs and camping vehicles from nearly 100 domestic and international brands, attracting many automobile enthusiasts.
With the RV market evolving, the event underscored increasing demand for lightweight, diversified, and customizable RVs, signaling a shift towards more personalized travel preferences.
The exhibition featured six main areas for RVs, heavy-duty RVs, camping vehicles, trailer RVs, RV accessories, and outdoor camping equipment, respectively. Highlights included the Novalion RV, based on BYD's 6.5-metric-ton hybrid light truck chassis, which offers a range of up to 1,000 kilometers with its large battery and has rapid recharging capabilities. "It ensures worry-free electricity usage even in extreme conditions," said Mao Guoqing, a brand representative of Novalion.

The Vala pure electric camping vehicle debuted as the first domestically produced, multi-functional vehicle with a modular space design. Its retro-inspired exterior and flexible interior earned it much attention at the exhibition.

Changan Automobile presented its super-range new energy pop-top RV, designed for young urbanites. It offers the flexibility to enter underground parking lots and serves as both a daily commuter and leisure RV. "The model is highly versatile," explained Li Shun, a sales manager at Changan.
