Shanghai IC Chip Manufacturing Center, dedicated to cultivating high-skilled talent in chip manufacturing, was unveiled on Oct 9 at an event themed "Promoting Scientist Qian Weichang's Scientific Spirit".
In collaboration with Shanghai University, the Shanghai Employment Promotion Center and Jiading district's human resources and social security bureau have chosen the Shanghai University National University Science Park Jiading Base as the location for the center.
Zhu Ting, executive deputy general manager of the Jiading Base, stated, "The center aims to deeply integrate industry, education, and practical applications, fostering partnerships among government bodies, academic institutions, and businesses."
The Jiading Base focuses not only on domestic technological achievements but also on global innovation. At the event, a partnership was formed with Germany's GNS Company, leading to an agreement to establish a cross-border incubation platform for scientific research outcomes. Based on Jiading district's key industries, they plan to leverage their resources such as technology, talent, and capital to expedite the commercialization of technological breakthroughs.
The establishment of the center is in line with Shanghai's strategic integrated circuit (IC) development plan and Jiading district's 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25). Shanghai University Vice President Wang Congchun emphasized the university's commitment to aligning with national strategies and local economic needs, enhancing talent development, and contributing to Shanghai's integrated circuit industry.
